Winter.
End of film-roll, too.

Winter sucks. Snow is cool, but winter in the city just sucks. Outside skate-missions are very few and far between, but in the days before Christmas Reini called me up and asked if I was up for a quick skate session. At first I was hesitant (“It’s soo cooold, I’m knackered….”), but then I realised that this will be one of those rare occasions of raw and cold winter skate-age. Plus, Reini is awesome.

The photos are from my dusty old Yashica T4 with a very weak battery.

Reini also has a great photo-blog you should follow:

Soap & Skin6 March 2009Konzerthaus WienThis is one of my most favorite photos of all time. Anja Plaschg aka Soap&Skin is about the most intense singer in Austria, or anywhere, for that matter. The show at Konzerthaus Vienna as part of Impulstanzfestival 2009 was packed to the rafters, but everyone in the audience held their breath between the songs, you could hear pins drop. It was pretty unique and amazing. The picture-quality is pretty bad, it’s very fuzzy. It was the last show I shot with my Nikon D50, which had a maximum ISO setting of 500 or something, really weak. But as it happens ever so often - equipment doesn’t matter, it’s what’s in front of the lense. Corny, but true.Photo by Daniel Eberharter

Grabbed my camera the other day to take some photos of the autumn leaves at my place of work.

So the doorbell rang yesterday afternoon and Wire stood before me. I let them into the backstage area of our venue and offered them some tea from my special stash of proper british tea, a gesture that seemed to please Colin Newman immensely, yet an offer he respectfully declined. “I bring my own tea on tour”.

It was such a pleasure to have Wire around and to see them play live. They were loud as fudge. Not just the doorbell rings sweetly in my head when I think of Wire, my ears do as well.
